A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR AMERICA

Hagelin_blue Dr. John Hagelin, a quantum physicist and major proponent of social change outlines a great future for America based on major transitional events occurring here in the U.S. and abroad.

America is no longer the deeply divided, violent nation of 18 months ago. With the start of the Invincible America Assembly in Iowa in July 2006, the country is being transformed. There has been a dramatic reduction of violence in the country: murders are plummeting in large American cities, including New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles, where homicides have dropped to their lowest levels in decades.

SOLAR POWERING ENTIRE CITIES

In the last entry we mentioned Nanosolar, a company that is pioneering thin flexible sheets that can generate electricity. Entire cities could become self sufficient through covering roof tops. This video outlines more fully the company, technology and possibilities.

POWER SHEET IS ON THE WAY

Cost for solar power has always stopped it from widespread adoption. Nanosolar  of California has come up with thin sheets something like printing rolls that can be rolled out on rooftops or in fact any other flat surface to produce electricity.

Traditional solar cells require silicon and run about $3 per watt. Traditional coal runs at $1 per watt. Commercially used Nanosolar power sheets will slash prices to 30 cents per watt. This technology alone could make a huge dent in greenhouse gases and also reduce our reliance on old technologies like coal and yes...even nuclear.

The San Jose company once full production is reached will create 430 megawatts of power in its first year. Its first project is in Europe where a consortium will build a 1.4 megawatt plant next year.

Popular Science has a very full explanation on the subject.
